Let’s start this report off with some great news: the state re-opened Dungeness Crabbing for a Winter season early this year: October 1 – December 31. Most of the rules are the same as Summer but during the Winter season you can crab 7 days/week! Still a limit of 5 hard-shell males per person per day.
As for fishing, anglers have done really well the past couple of weeks fishing for Silvers south in area 9, with a handful of people also having success off the beaches around Camano. Where its starting to get really good though is in the rivers. One customer and his friends landed 6 beautiful Silvers in the Stilly just yesterday! Buzz Bombs, Dick Nites(50/50 color) and Krocodiles are great choices for casting lures. If you’re in the saltwater trolling, I recommend a Red Racer, White Lightning or Cookies & Cream Coho Killer with a Purple Haze or Red Racer 11″ flasher.
