Fishing Report 10/28/13

This year’s Humpy run was great. And while you may still see the occasional Pink floating down the river, don’t bother rigging up a pink squid or buzz bomb to try and catch them because the meat is pretty much garbage at this point. We will look forward to the next run in 2015 with baited breath…

That being said, most of our local rivers have been producing daily limits of Silver and (to a lesser extent) Chum Salmon. Check the regs for each river’s specific rules, minimums and closure dates before you head out because they are all a little different.

The occasional Silver can also be caught in the Saltwater, but now most of the anticipation is on the opening of Winter Blackmouth(Chinook) Salmon. That season runs from November 1st through April 30th. Daily limit of 2 per person with a minimum size of 23″ and they must be hatchery. Sign up for our running Winter Blackmouth Derby, it’s just $10 per person for 6 months of community competition! Rules and details can be found on the next post.

Don’t forget, Crabbing re-opened as well! You can crab 7 days a week until the end of the year, but the daily limit is still 5 per person with a minimum size of 6 1/4″. Keepers must also be male and have hard shells.
