Fishing Report 4/4/11

I know the Winter Blackmouth report is really sounding like a broken record, with fishing still being quite slow as we come into the final days of the season. Most keepers have been caught around Elger Bay and the Camano State Park lately. Of course the San Juans are the exception with quite a few fish being caught the past 2 weeks; including a massive 27 pound hatchery Blackmouth! Around Camano, the positive side is that most of the fish caught all winter have had good size to them. Best results lately have been with cookies n cream spoons and cut plug herring.

Saturday April 30th is opening day of many lowland lakes for trout.

May 5th is opening day of Halibut fishing in areas 6 through 10. It will be open Thursday through Saturday until Memorial Day weekend when it is open on Sunday as well. The daily limit is 1 per person.

All fishing and hunting licenses expired on March 31st so don’t forget to renew yours today. Licenses can be bought from us 7 days a week, 6 a.m. – 9 p.m.
